Your relationship
deserves someone who
truly understands
complexity.
Some relationships carry more layers — different cultures, different histories, different worlds brought together. I work with couples navigating that complexity, helping them rebuild, repair, and reconnect.

You love each other, but feel worlds apart
Different cultural backgrounds, different families, different expectations about how love is supposed to work. The gap feels real — and exhausting.
You need a therapist who won’t make you explain yourselves
You’re tired of educating the room about your identity, your culture, or your relationship structure. You want someone who just gets it.
Something has broken trust
An affair, a betrayal, a slow erosion. You’re not sure what you want — to stay, to leave, or just to understand what happened.
You’re not in crisis — you just want to do better
The relationship is good, but you sense it could be more. Deeper. More honest. You’re investing before things break down.

I know what it’s like
to live between worlds.
I grew up between cultures — my parents immigrated across countries, and I've since lived in the US, China, Sweden, and the UK, with time in Italy, Hong Kong, and Ghana. I navigate this complexity in my own life, not just in the consulting room.
Before private practice I worked with domestic violence organisations, Asian American community groups, immigration shelters, and refugee populations — because the world outside a relationship doesn't stay outside. It comes into the room.

chosen for fit — not fashion
No single model works for every couple. I draw on several evidence-based frameworks, combining them based on what the relationship needs — not what fits a template.
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Works at the level of attachment — the emotional bond between partners, and the cycles of pursuit and withdrawal that form when that bond feels threatened. The strongest evidence base of any couples model.
Gottman Method
Research-based tools for building friendship, managing conflict, and creating shared meaning — developed from 40 years of research on what makes relationships succeed or fail.
Systemic & Psychodynamic
Looks at the wider systems — families, cultures, histories — that both partners bring into the room. Essential for intercultural couples, where context is never just background.
Where I do my deepest work
Intercultural & Interracial Couples
When two people come from different cultural backgrounds, the relationship carries two sets of assumptions about family, love, conflict, and loyalty — often unspoken, often invisible until they clash.
- —Cultural differences in communication and conflict
- —Family pressure and loyalty conflicts
- —Bicultural identity and belonging
- —Immigration and acculturative stress
- —Raising children between cultures
- —Adoption and complex family-of-origin stories
LGBTQ+ Affirming Couples Therapy
LGBTQ+ couples face pressures that heteronormative therapy simply isn’t built to see — minority stress, chosen family dynamics, relationships that don’t fit received templates.
- —Minority stress and its relational impact
- —Coming out and family estrangement
- —Non-traditional relationship structures
- —Identity and transition within a partnership
- —The intersection of LGBTQ+ and intercultural identity
- —Navigating visibility and safety as a couple
